In order to see how the neuro-muscular system (NMS) functions in the occlusal anomaly with which treatment begins, it is better to plan the correction of the anteroposterior mismatch of the dentoalveolar complex, the vertical parameters of the masticatory teeth, to observe the preservation of balance parameters during the orthodontic correction and associated with it the restructuring of occlusal contacts.
The adaptive abilities of the NMS to changes in occlusion are quite high, however, with gross violations of the myodynamic balance, there is always a risk of treatment failure due to the lack of skeletal adaptation and, as a result, the need to eliminate the resulting dysfunctions by other specialists.
